Your Invitation to Living in Paradise

Higuera Blanca, Nayarit is a quiet village located 2 km inland from Litibu. Most of the people who live in Higuera Blanca are part of families whose parents and grandparents worked on the large Hacienda that once owned the entire region. The local people take pride in their town and the beach area.

The town plaza is a location for fiestas, weddings, and birthdays. The primary and secondary schools, the church and health clinic surround the plaza. There is a basketball court, volleyball net, and playground next to the plaza. Just a few blocks away are the town sports field for baseball, softball, and soccer games. It’s not unusual to see a large crowd turn out for local games.

The town of Higuera Blanca offers many small stores (tiendas) for groceries and supplies, restaurants, laundry services, beer and liquor sales, water services, Internet cafes, pizza and barbecue chicken delivery. There are electricians, plumbers, car mechanics, construction services, and many experienced craftsmen. As you do business with these fine entrepreneurs you will create long lasting relationships.

Punta de Mita is really 3 areas clustered together. The indigenous fishing population was relocated from the point of the peninsula many years ago to allow for the selling and building of a secure high end resort area which includes the Four Seasons, the St. Regis, and other boutique hotels, condos, and private homes around the golf course. The relocated populations were settled in nearby Coral de Risco and the village of Emiliano Zapata. Along the beach front area of the North Bay there is restaurant row and high-end shops. Many foreign residents own homes in these areas. Located 7 km and 10 minutes from Litibu, Punta de Mita is a great choice for evenings out.

Sayulita:  Sayulita is 11 kilometers (about 7 miles) north of Litibu, a 15 minutes drive thru the jungle. When I stumbled upon the unmapped village of Sayulita in the Spring of 2000, I knew I had found a special place. The quality of the light alone attracts many artists. The international flavor was first created by a mixture of local fisherman, migrating surfers, tourists, and the Mexican culture.

Sayulita now is an eclectic mix of sophisticated shops and restaurants, surfers, fishermen, and entrepreneurs in a rapidly growing beach town. The sun, surf, nightlife, and cuisine are the draw. Tourism is the dominant economy with weddings being held most weekends of the high season.

La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is a Mexican village located 20 kms and 25 minutes from Litibu, inland towards Puerto Vallarta. Many foreigners have established homes in this town and enjoy the strong music scene at night. There are several excellent restaurants and a strong sense of community welcoming to boat people. There is also a large marina completed several years ago and the marina club is open to the public.

Bucerias is a growing vibrant Mexican town 23 kms and 30 minutes from Litibu on the way to Puerto Vallarta. Many foreigners purchased homes here as Vallarta became more expensive. Today Bucerias has many wonderful restaurants and a diverse nightlife with tourism as the main focus of the economy. As a full size town, many services, repair centers, and large grocery stores are found near here.

Puerto Vallarta is just 45 minutes away and is a major tourist center with an International Airport, hospitals and has all the services of a mid-sized Mexican city. There are more than 68 internationally recognized restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. PV is also host to many international festivals drawing thousands of Europeans and South Americans annually. PV and the surrounding areas have more than 300,000 Americans and Canadians who choose to live here enjoying the liberal culture of Mexican.
